Educational and Training Models - choose the best & the most efficient but don’t forget the fun-factor
There are numerous training models and educational strategies making it difficult to choose. How do you make the choice or combination of choices that fits your needs best? Education and skill training remains necessary although it is fundamentally different from the skill training used before.
Skill in the use of patient handling equipment, skill in day-to-day mobilisation of patients and communication skills remain to be crucial for a successful and safe ergonomic policy in health care. Redesign of old methods is necessary and possible with the aid of new technology and of course all the options internet offers.
We have compared a series of different options when it comes to effectiveness (is there evidence to support a strategy), efficiency (the most time-efficient and/or cost efficient strategy or model) and the (perceived) satisfaction and fun that careworkers (and their trainers) have with the different models. In order to reduce costs and maximize effects the following educational and training models were compared and were put into a businesscase-calculating model that shows the differences and makes choosing one or more options easier for nurses managers.
